The Tully Road and Capitol Expressway intersection will be closed overnight beginning Friday, August 1 at 9 pm. Temporary Lane closures will begin at 7 pm. Changeable message signs (CMS) and detour-related directional signs will be in place days before to alert motorists traveling in the area.
A full intersection closure is necessary to allow construction crews to hoist girders into place, connecting the superstructure (bridge) to the abutment (ramp). Doing this activity overnight when traffic is lighter is safest for the traveling public and work crew. The image shows what the completed work will look like.
