Lights, Camera—and Transit: Ride VTA to Cinequest
02/17/2026

Lights, camera, transit! VTA is happy to once again partner with the Cinequest Film & Creativity Festival, which returns March 10-22 to turn downtown San Jose and Mountain View into a playground of films, ideas, and creative experimentation. For two weeks, the South Bay becomes a hub of storytelling, innovation, and community—and VTA is here to help you get to it all.

Cinequest has long been one of the region’s signature cultural events, drawing filmmakers, artists, and curious audiences from around the world. Known for blending independent cinema with emerging technology and immersive experiences, the festival offers far more than traditional screenings. From bold premieres to thoughtful conversations with creators, there’s something for seasoned cinephiles and first-time attendees alike.

This year’s lineup includes 268 new films from 44 countries, spanning genres, styles, and perspectives. Whether you’re catching a late-night indie feature, attending the Maverick Spirit Awards, or celebrating at an after-party, many of Cinequest’s venues are conveniently located near VTA bus and light rail routes. That means less time circling around for parking and more time to enjoy the festival.

If you prefer to experience Cinequest from home, the festival’s virtual platform, Cinejoy, will also offer select films and experiences online following the in-person events—extending the festival’s reach far beyond theater walls March 24-31.

However you choose to participate, VTA makes it easy to plan your trip. Use our trip planning tools to map your route, check real-time service, and travel smoothly between venues in San Jose and Mountain View.

Grab your popcorn (or notebook), bring your curiosity, and hop on VTA to Cinequest. Tickets and full festival details are available at cinequest.org.
