Bike to Wherever Days Are Almost Here

May is National Bike Month, and there is no better time to dust off your helmet, pump up your tires, and hit the road. Whether you're pedaling to work, running errands, or just cruising somewhere new, Bike to Wherever Days, May 14–16, is your invitation to ride.

The festivities kick off on Thursday, May 14, the official Bike to Work Day for 2026. Energizer Stations pop up across Santa Clara and San Mateo counties to cheer you on, hand out swag, and keep the good vibes rolling all three days. VTA will have its own Energizer Station on the Guadalupe Trail near the River Oaks Bridge, from 6:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. Thursday morning. Check the energizer station map for the location nearest you.

Whether you're a daily commuter or haven't been on a bike in a while, join the movement: pledge to ride and you could score a collectible bike messenger bag.

Not ready to go car-free the whole way? That's where VTA comes in. Load your bike onto a VTA bus or light rail, then pedal the rest. It's the flexibility that makes two wheels even more powerful.

Bike Month is bigger than just three days. All of May is your invitation to explore biking in your community. Check out Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition's events calendar for group rides, community tabling, and more happening throughout the month.

Let's make May 2026 a celebration of healthier, more connected communities, one pedal stroke at a time. See you out there!
